Harbour Town Golf Links 

Known as one of the best golf courses on the Island, Harbour Town Golf Links is a bucket list golf course for those who love the game. Every year since 1969, this iconic course hosts the RBC Heritage PGA Tournament in mid-April. Heron Point 

This 7,035-yard course is everything you can imagine from the legendary golf architect Pete Dye. It has every element you might expect in a Lowcountry Dye design including water, bulkheads, sand, and perfect conditions. It recently went under some modifications to become more player friendly. Now, there are seven sets on each hole so even your Junior golfers can tag along and play.

Atlantic Dunes 

Atlantic Dunes is Hilton Head Island’s first golf course. Due to its long-standing on the island, it went through a renovation to modernize the course. This modernization was done by David Love III. Today it still holds its classic Lowcountry charm, but it has been updated to accommodate modern shot values and frame scenic corridors. As you play this course be sure to enjoy the stunning ocean views!

Palmetto Dunes Golf Courses 

Arthur Hills Course 

Awarded 2021 Traveler’s Choice by TripAdvisor, Arthur Hills has been a staple on the island since 1991. Named after its designer, this course is true to the Hills style. Your game will have to focus on accuracy and precision over distance as this course tests even the best of golfers with pines and oaks like the fairways and strategically placed lakes. This course hosts several college tournaments where players like Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, and David Duval have played.

Robert Trent Jones Course 

Named after its designer, the Robert Trent Jones Course is known for its panoramic views of the lagoon and the ocean. The 10th hole of this course is the most iconic hole of the course because the offer the most views from the elevated greens. The shifting winds from the ocean are sure to make each round of this course most memorable.

George Fazio Course 

As Hilton Head Island’s only par 70 public golf course, it is the island’s most distinctive and challenging layout. Made up mostly of long par 4s, golfers regard this course as the most challenging course on the Island. It was designed to be a true and fair test for golfers of all skill levels.

Shipyard Golf Courses

Brigantine Course

Brigantine Course is the shortest and newest course of the three Shipyard Golf Courses. Built and designed in 1982 by Willard C Byrd, this course requires shot-making and a good short game. As you play along this course, you can spot alligators sunning themselves along the water hazards. This course is only 9 holes, but it offers 4 tee positions to accommodate all levels of play.

Galleon Course 

Another 9-hole course in the Shipyard Golf Club, Galleon Course is the original nine holes of the club. Designed by George W. Cobb and built-in 1970, you can meander through large oaks and tall pines. This course also offers 4 tee positions to accommodate all levels of play.

Clipper Course 

Clipper Course is the longest and most difficult of the 3 Shipyard courses. George W. Cobb designed this course with plenty of sand and water hazards. This course requires a good long game and a soft touch and you navigate around the greens. The same as the other two courses, Clipper had 4 tee positions to accommodate all levels of players.

We also have a few honorable mention golf courses that are also very popular with visitors on the island. Barony Course in Port Royal is one of the first courses built on the island. Today, it had new resurfaced greens to produce a new challenge to the course. Also in Port Royal is Robber’s Row. This course is set atop former civil war grounds and is scattered with historical markers throughout the course. Lastly, we cannot forget to mention Golder Bear Golf Club in Indigo Run.
