We invite you to bring your dog(s) to vacation at one of our properties labeled pet friendly. If you plan to bring your four-legged friend, pre-approval is needed at the time of booking, and we encourage you to read our pet policy below.
If a pet is found at a property not labeled pet-friendly or on-premises without advanced approval, guests will be charged $100 per night per pet of contracted rental agreement dates and be asked to vacate the property immediately without a refund.
Our Pet-Friendly Vacation Rental Policies:
- Only dogs are allowed in properties marked as Pet Friendly
- No dogs over 60 lbs. are permitted without prior approval at the time of booking your reservation.
- Your pet must be pre-approved at the time of booking your reservation.
- A $250 non-refundable pet fee is required, per pet, at the time of booking. (As of 8/25/2023)
- Damages found may result in additional charges.

Dog-Friendly Activities on Hilton Head
Hilton Head Dog-Friendly Beaches
Hilton Head is scattered with a variety of beaches that are dog friendly! Some of the most popular beaches are Burkes Beach, Alder Lane Beach Access, and Fish Haul Beach Park. During the summer months from the Friday before Memorial Day to Labor Day, dogs are not permitted on the beach between the hours of 10 am to 5 pm. Outside of this time, dogs are allowed on the beaches on a leash or under voice control.
Over the Spring and Fall. April 1st to the Thursday before Memorial Day and Tuesday after Labor Day to September 30th, you can bring your dogs on a leash anytime. If you are looking to bring your dog off leash and under voice control, you’ll have to do so in the mornings before 10 am or in the evenings after 5 pm. From October through May, you can bring your dog to the beach anytime on a leash or under voice control.
The dog leash regulations listed are not applicable to service dogs. Service dogs are allowed on the beaches anytime as long as they are leached.
If you do plan on bringing your dog to one of our Hilton Head Beaches, please be sure to pick up after your pet and properly dispose of any trash. Additionally, your dog is not permitted to swim in the designated swim areas of the beach.

Dog-friendly Restaurants on Hilton Head
We love bringing our dogs out with us to eat when the weather is nice, and the restaurant patios are open! It’s a great opportunity to get your dog out of your vacation rental with you. Some of our favorite Dog-Friendly restaurants include Skull Creek Boathouse, The Crazy Crab, Hudson’s Seafood House on the Docks, and Frost Frog Café. Each of these delicious restaurants has an extensive outdoor seating area for you to relax and grab a bite to eat while Fido relaxes by your feet.

Dog Daycare, Vacation Resorts, and Kennels
Are you interested in staying at one of our Hilton Head vacation rentals that is not pet friendly, but don’t want to leave your pet at home? Hilton Head Island has many locally owned and operated boarding options. We love to bring our dogs to Southpaw Pet Resort, Evergreen Pet Lodge, All About Pets, and Isle of Paws when we go out of town or are spending a long day out of the house. Many of these great locations offer daycare along with boarding. If you are planning on staying in one of our pet-friendly vacation rentals but planning a day full of non-pet-friendly activities, you can still bring them to one of these amazing companies for a day of stimulation with other dogs.
